One World Everybody Eats is actively seeking to hire an Executive Director to support the ongoing work and mission expansion. This is a new role for the organization and will require someone who can develop the role long-term.

The One World Everybody Eats Executive Director role furthers its mission to increasing food security and building community through the pay-what-you-can nonprofit restaurant model.  The Executive Director’s responsibilities revolve around supporting the Board of Directors and any future staff members.

Location: Remote, with Travel

  • Year 1: 10% Travel (approximately 2 trips annually)

  • Year 2: 15% Travel (approximately 3 trips annually)

  • Year 3: 25% Travel (approximately 4 trips annually)

Fundraising (30%)

  • Meet annual fundraising goals and seek new funding opportunities.

  • Develop and implement a fundraising plan and strategy for One World Everybody Eats and its Board of Directors.

  • Expand revenue generating and fundraising activities to support existing program operations and program expansion.

  • Research and apply for grants for One World Everybody Eats. 

  • Other duties as assigned.

Café Development (20%)

  • Maintain relationships with existing member cafes and support unique needs for each.

  • Field café inquiries and support program enrollment in One World Everybody Eats’ network.

  • Work as a Café Coach to One World Everybody Eats’ Startup Cafes, for contracted term.

  • Provide experience and help cafes navigate One World Everybody Eats’ 7 core principles.

  • Follow-up with cafes after consultation to ensure understanding.

  • Report progress to the Board of Directors.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Annual Summit Facilitation (20%)

  • Agenda and development of summit theme and vision.

  • Communication and sales of summit tickets.

  • Coordination of workshops in alignment with member café expectations.

  • Coordination of facilities, rentals, etc.   

  • Evaluation of programming for future improvements.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Marketing and Public Relations (10%)

  • Deepen and refine all aspects of communications—from web presence to external relations with the goal of creating a stronger brand.

  • Use external presence and relationships to garner new opportunities.

  • Be an external presence that publishes and communicates program results with an emphasis on the successes of the local program as a model for regional and national replication.

  • Present the One World Everybody Eats mission to others to increase awareness.

  • Execute National Everybody Eats Week promotions.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Volunteer Management/BOD Management (10%)

  • Maintain and manage national volunteer platform (Volunteer Portal) for existing cafes.

  • Organization of volunteer/BOD information.

  • Tracking of volunteer/BOD hours served.

  • Phone and email communications to existing and prospective volunteers/BOD.

  • Organize and lead training sessions for all volunteers/BOD.

  • Assist the Board of Directors in recruiting and vetting new board members. 

  • Other duties as assigned.

Administration (10%)

  • Email correspondence and facilitation of member and membership requests. 

  • Managing membership accounts. 

  • Expense and record keeping. 

  • Scheduling and coordination of meetings. 

  • Preparation of reports. 

  • Other duties as assigned. 

Required Qualifications

  • Commitment to One World Everybody Eats’ mission

  • College degree with at least 2 years management experience, preferred.

  • 2-years fundraising and/or grant writing experience.

  • 2-years experience working in a Community Café®, preferred.

  • 2-years experience working with a nonprofit Board of Directors.

  • Commitment to quality, data-driven programs and evaluation.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.  

    Must be willing to undergo a background check.

    Salary Range: $12,500, 10-hours per week ($50,000 Full-Time Equivalent)
